Alexandria, Egypt in June 2017 saw a landmark Acamedia event which received more than 14,000 applications to attend. Participants heard about Academia's latest developments in a series of lectures, panel discussions and musical performances which showcased the vision and purpose behind its work.
In November 2016 Acamedia organised a pioneering youth event in Cairo, to launch its newest project, Al-Baheth 'an Al-Haqiqa. Moez Masoud talked about the history of Acamedia and explained the bigger picture within which its diverse portfolio of work lies.
Clash premiered internationally throughout 2016 at numerous film festivals including the Munich International Film Festival, the Arab Film Festival in California, the BFI London Film Festival, the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Carthage Film Festival in Tunis. The film was also released nationwide across France and is set to be released throughout 2017 in over 20 other nations worldwide.
Moez Masoud attended the Egyptian Premiere of his film production Clash in Cairo, July 2o16.
In September 2014 Moez Masoud, alongside other Muslim scholars, was one of the founders of the Letter to Baghdadi and was one of the initial 100 signatories. The letter constituted a theological refutation of the ideology and practises of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria according to traditional Islamic scholars and texts. The letter has since been signed by hundreds of Muslim scholars and community members and continues to be endorsed.
Moez Masoud attended the Council of Europe's first World Forum for Democracy in 2012, and spoke at its key event alongside Nobel Laureates and other personalities.
Moez Masoud participated in the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of 2012 in Davos, Switzerland where he shared panels with many of the world's leading scientists, Nobel laureates, religious leaders and philanthropists.
In 2008, Moez Masoud participated in one of the Doha Debates.
Moez Masoud spoke at the inaugural launch event of the Radical Middle Way in London, 2006.

Moez Masoud gave the keynote address at the annual United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Dialogue (UNHCR) in Geneva, December 2016. He highlighted the importance of youth and children and the specific issues they face, particularly refugees, and proposed various radical solutions to engage and deal with these challenges.
In October 2016 Moez Masoud gave an exclusive keynote speech at the GIE Summit in Dubai.
In August 2016, Egypt officially selected Acamedia's film Clash to represent it in the Oscars' 2017 Best Foreign Language Film race.
Moez Masoud was present at the 69th Cannes Film Festival in May 2016 as producer of the film Clash to attend its Premiere as the opening film of the Un Certain Regard category of the festival. The film is set in post-revolution Cairo during the series of violent protests following the events of June 2013.
Moez Masoud spoke at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Dialogue in Geneva, December 2015, representing the Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge. He addressed the current situation of refugees, focused on root causes of ideological-based conflict, and offered insights into what the global community could do to help.
Moez Masoud was a key speaker at a Mawlid celebration event
in Abu Dhabi in January 2013. In December 2012 Moez Masoud spoke at the Reviving the Islamic Spirit (RIS) Conference in Canada.
In 2010, Moez Masoud became a member of the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought.
In 2011, Moez Masoud participated in the post-Tahrir “Egyptian National Dialogue, alongside a group of the nation's leading figures in various disciplines.
